ForBioSensing for the sake of safety - a strong wind in the Bialowieza Forest

Due to the strong winds prevailing in the Białowieża Forest, as members of a team working for several years in these areas, we would like to appeal to our recipients. We always take care of safety, especially during strong winds, heavy rain or thunderstorms.

Let's not look, weather situations in the forest can also surprise. That is why in today's news we present 5 basic safety principles in the Białowieża Forest:

  1. Check the weather forecast - if it is going to rain, blow at a high speed, or forecast a storm - do not plan a trip to the forest!
  2. Remember to have a map and a charged phone with you - they will be useful if you lose your orientation and need help.
  3. Listen to the sounds of the forest - the sounds you hear (wildlife escaping to hideouts, breaking branches) will allow you to react appropriately.
  4. If there is a downpour or a storm in the forest - take shelter. Avoid individual trees and metal structures.
  5. Avoid clusters of dead standing trees (e.g. spruce monocultures).

It is worth remembering that on hiking trails there may be difficulties, e.g. hanging branches, lying broken trees or standing dry trees. Weather conditions in the Forest can be monitored on an ongoing basis on our meteoportal at: http://www.forbiosensing.pl/portal-mapowy/pages/meteoportal?execution=e1s1

* Based on the security principles presented by the Białowieża Information Point
