Winter in the Białowieża Forest
Winter is often perceived as a time when nature lies dormant. But is this really the case? Just look under your feet. A layer of snow reveals that the forest is teeming with life. Numerous animal tracks intertwine into paths, and sometimes you can come across the traces of solitary wanderers. On sunny winter days, snow crystals shimmer on the ground and on tree branches. It is precisely this season that best allows one to appreciate the scale of the forest’s tree stands. Massive oak trunks, towering pines, and other impressive trees are revealed. It is the perfect time for a walk - of course, without forgetting warm clothing.
To everyone planning such a trip, and especially to those who are sensitive to the cold, we recommend our promotional film entitled “The Forest Is Changing!”. In it, specialists from ForBioSensing talk about observations and measurements of tens of thousands of trees, including the tallest and most magnificent ones.
