Wolves in the Białowieża Forest

Field staff from the LIFE+ ForBioSensing project recently witnessed something truly remarkable in the Białowieża Forest. During routine monitoring work, they came across something that makes every nature lover’s heart beat faster — clear, fresh signs of wolves in the area!

The team discovered an entire series of clues pointing to the presence of a wolf pack: tracks, scratch marks, and scent marking.

And that wasn’t all!

The observers got even luckier. From a distance, they spotted a family group of more than five wolves. Although they were quite far away, the animals were clearly visible — but they quickly moved off and disappeared from sight. Only after some time did one of the wolves reappear on the road, allowing for a much closer observation.

A big thank you to the field team for their vigilance and documentation!
