What happened to the ash trees?
The data collected within the ForBioSensing project are still being used!
They continue to support new research projects, including the project "Comprehensive spatial analysis of the dieback of dominant tree species in the Białowieża Forest based on multi-temporal laser scanning data and CIR imagery" led by Dr. hab. Agnieszka Kamińska, Prof. of the Forest Research Institute, from the Geomatics Department.
Based on data collected in 2015 and 2019, researchers mapped both living and dead ash trees in the Białowieża Forest. These insights allow us to track the dynamics of this species' occurrence in one of the most valuable forests in Europe.
