As part of educational and promotional activities carried out by the Department of Natural Forests in Białowieża, in cooperation with the LIFE + ForBioSensing project, on 6-11.IX at the headquarters of the ZLN, a meeting with second-year students of the Faculty of Forestry of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences took place.

The course included 3 lectures presenting: the results of the latest research in the Białowieża Forest, the history of the Forest Research Institute and information about the ForBioSensing project. Prof. Rafał Paluch discussed the effects of the works carried out both by the Natural Forests Department and in the LIFE + project. The lecturers were also dr Artur Obidziński and dr inż. Wojciech Ciurzycki - employees of the Independent Department of Forest Botany, WL SGGW.

The lectures met with great interest of students. They listened with curiosity to issues related to, inter alia, with the gradation of the bark beetle, the natural regeneration of pine and the expansion of hornbeam in the Białowieża Primeval Forest, and the possibilities of using remote techniques.

80 students participated in the lectures.
