Let's share knowledge, take advantage of experience. Networking is not just about exchanging business cards.

One of the many important activities implemented in LIFE projects is Networking. This is a comprehensive exchange of knowledge between Beneficiaries, which aims to provide mutual assistance and support. It is also a chance to acquire additional skills and then jointly share the resources of acquired knowledge and competences.

As part of the LIFE + ForBioSensing project, the role of using networking in professional relations and the principle of reciprocity has been noticed many times. The chance of communing with scientists, experts and specialists was used at specialist meetings: conferences, trainings, workshops or meetings. These meetings made it possible to confront opinions, suppositions and problems with those who had previously paved similar routes. Obtained knowledge has undoubtedly obtained the status of an exceptional, and its fruits can be consumed as part of the resulting scientific publications, research papers and contact networks - lasting professional relationships.

Implementing the principles of Networking led to the creation of an exceptional publication on the scale of the LIFE program and across Europe. As part of cooperation between three EU LIFE projects: Samix (Saving Mediterranean Forests from Invasions of Xylosandrus beetles and associated pathogenic fungi, LIFE17 NAT / IT / 000609); ForBioSensing (Comprehensive monitoring of stand dynamics in Białowieża Forest supported with remote sensing techniques, LIFE13 ENV / PL / 000048); and FRESh LIFE (Demonstrating Remote Sensing integration in sustainable forest management, LIFE14 / IT000414), it was checked how the fusion of two types of aerial data - hyperspectral images and laser scanning can be used to determine the amount of forest biomass.

In the article entitled "Species dominance and above ground biomass in the Białowieża Forest, Poland, described by airborne hyperspectral and lidar data", collaboration of scientists provides a credible description of important forest features and facilitates monitoring of resources, supporting authorities in managing forest areas. And all this thanks to the activities of Networking.
