ForBioSensing at the event "Conference of Polish Dendrochronologists"

On February 5-6 in Warsaw the "Conference of Polish Dendrochronologists" took place. This is a cyclical event that creates a place for discussion on a multifaceted analysis of annual growth rings of trees and shrubs, and also opens the field for cooperation and exchange of good practices in the field of dendronological work. The organizers of the conference are: the Faculty of Forestry of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW and the Center for Nature and Forest Education in Rogów.

At the Faculty of Forestry of Warsaw University of Life Sciences SGGW, many participants gathered, representatives of sectors such as archeology, botany, ecology, geomorphology, climatology, forestry and many other disciplines. Among them, a large group were employees of the Forbiosensing team. During this event, the dendroecological research specialist presented his speech in the ForBioSensing project - dr inż. Ewa Zin. A paper was presented entitled "The role of fire in changes in the structure of mixed and deciduous forests - dendrological reconstruction of the long-term dynamics of tree populations and the history of fires in the hornbeam forest in the Białowieża Forest". Conference participants had the opportunity to hear information about what dendrochronological data were obtained in the project and what scope of work has so far been carried out during such a long-term undertaking as the Forbiosensing project.

During the conference, ForBioSensing employees also presented their poster entitled "Dendrochronological research in the LIFE + ForBioSensing project" Comprehensive monitoring of the dynamics of forest stands in the Bialowieza Forest using remote sensing data "- first results. Its authors are: Agnieszka Bosak, Kamil Pilch, Ewa Zin and Paula Całusińska. He could be admired at the ForBioSensing promotional stand specially prepared for the occasion. The speeches were followed by a summary discussion in which each participant could share his experience and vision of the use of dendrochronological methods in scientific research.
