Polish Dendrochronologists Conference 2020 - Preview

This year's 5th edition of this event will take place on February 5-6 at the Faculty of Forestry of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences SGGW. It is a great opportunity to gather in one place specialists dealing with multi-faceted analysis of annual growth rings of trees and shrubs. The conference will present partial results of the ForBioSensing Project.

The main purpose of this conference is to present various applications of dendrochronological methods in scientific research. A valuable result of the meeting is also the exchange of information and experience gained between Polish scientists who deal with the above-mentioned issues. The results of dendrochronological research are increasingly used in works of a wide range of sciences, including archeology, ecology, geomorphology, climatology, forestry, palaeogeography and in many other related fields.

The Forbiosensing team will have the pleasure of attending this conference. Specialists working in the project analyze the history of the forests of the Białowieża Forest recorded in annual growth rings of trees. The goal of these activities is to learn about the long-term dynamics and history of the development of stands, made possible by dendrochronology, which assigns individual annual growth rings to relevant calendar years. At a specially prepared promotional stand, ForBioSensing will share acquired experience and present the preliminary results of its activities.
