Bialowieska Forest, admiring biodiversity: August in the Bialowieza Forest

August heralds changes in the natural calendar - in the landscape the forest fleece is bearing fruit. The eighth month began, after the Old Polish one called the Augustus - from the sickle, which was used to cut the grain. During this period, we are dealing not only with the observation of ripening crops and harvesting harvests, but also with the admiration of the extraordinary biodiversity of the Bialowieza Forest.

This is the time when our pantries are filled with forest fruits, especially blueberries: wild strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or raspberries. In the late sun, red rowan beads glisten, the glass rouge blackened with cherry, and the blueberry delight with its ruby shade. On hot days you can clearly feel the sweet smell of the resin.

The employees of our team together with this year's volunteers, have an unusual opportunity to observe the fruiting of the Bialowieza forest floor. Field works in the Forest are in progress, during which measurement data for monitoring forest stands are collected.

In the attached photos we present the richness of the forest flora. August is a great time for forest wandering and admiring nature in its summer look.
