ForBioSensing, our activities in the Bialowieza Forest: Help in gaining experience in research work - working with volunteers

From the beginning of the project, we are open to many forms of cooperation, including: data sharing, conducting educational lessons, support in the design of promotional materials (eg. t-shirts) and assistance in gaining experience that takes place by working with volunteers.

In recent years, we have had the pleasure of working with a strong group of young and committed people - students and graduates of universities. On many occasions, it is also international cooperation - our ranks have recently expanded to include students from Spain who are internships under the Erasmus+ program. They take part in everyday field work, performing various activities, eg: in the attached pictures we can see a student who measures the height of a tree using a special device - an altimeter (from any distance from the tree his height is determined), recently replaced batteries in dendrometers (devices measuring the growth of the tree to thickness).

From today, a new call for participation in volunteering and practices in our project is launched. People who apply to us will have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge about the forest stand, learn about traditional and modern methods of monitoring trees and stands, and gain valuable experience during daily field work in the Polish part of the Białowieża Forest.

We invite you to take part!
