Forbiosensing at the "Information Environment" Conference 2018!

On November 22, 2018, the "Information Environment" Conference took place in Warsaw. This is a cyclical event that creates a place for discussion on active access to information about the environment and its protection, as well as on the cooperation and exchange of good practices in the use of digital data. The organizers of the conference are: the Ministry of the Environment, the General Directorate for Environmental Protection and NFOŚiGW, in substantive cooperation with business partners.


The Copernicus Science Center gathered many participants, representatives of such sectors as: science, business, public administration and non-governmental organizations. Among them, the group of workers was Forbiosensing. During this event, the presentation of the ForBioSensing project manager - dr inż. Krzysztof Stereńczak. He presented a paper on the results of forest stand monitoring in the Bialowieza Forest. Conference participants had the opportunity to hear about what data was obtained in the project and what scope of work has so far been achieved during this long-term undertaking, the Forbiosensing project.


Also presentations were presented by: dr Bartłomiej Kraszewski - "Analysis of multi-source data on the forest environment with the use of open source tools". The Forest Research Institute has also been represented by MSc. Mariusz Ciesielski, who presented a paper on: "Using public VGI data to monitor traffic in forest areas". After the speeches, there was a discussion on which each participant could share their experience and vision to improve the methods of creating and using digital data on the subject of the environment.
