INAUGURAL GFBI CONFERENCE & JOINT GFBI-FECS SYMPOSIUM

On September 6-9, 2017, we participated in Inaugural Global Forest Biodiversity Initiative Conference & GFBI-FECS Joint Symposium “Forest Researchin the Big Data Era”, held at the Beijing Forestry University in China. The conference was a chance to exchange information on a wide range of projects in the broader ecology context, with particular focus on those where large data sets are processed (a.k.a. “Big Data").

During the conference Krzysztof Stereńczak, PhD, gave a presentation entitled "Forest monitoring - landscape scale at the single tree level", where he presented LIFE+ ForBioSensing ongoing works and results. The conference was also a chance to exchange ideas and to set up future cooperation. The conference was attended by over 70 participants from 33 countries and a large group of students and staff from the Beijing Forest University.
