FORBIOSENSING PROJECT ON MSCJ SPRING SCHOOL IN JENA

Between 12th and 17th March, 2017 in Jena was held MSCJ-LIFE Spring School on Statistical Analysis of Hyperspectral and High-Dimensional Remote-Sensing Data. The workshop was organised by GIScience group, Department of Geography, Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena as an action in the project Life Healthy Forest.

The main topic of the spring school was application of R language in processing and analysis of hyperspectral and high-dimensional data. During various lectures and hands-on sessions participants were introduced to analysis and visualisation of spatial data, hyperspectral data processing and its use in research, statistical methods of data analysis. In the group of participants were MSc and PhD students and researchers from various countries around the world.

One of the invited lecturers was Aneta Modzelewska from ForBioSensing team, who is a hyperspectral remote sensing specialist in the project. Aneta presented a talk about the use of hyperspectral techniques in forestry with examples from the project LIFE+ ForBioSensing PL Comprehensive monitoring of stand dynamics in Białowieża Forest supported with remote sensing techniques.
