II FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE RUN

Last Saturday (May, 27th) there was held the II Forest Research Institute Run “Naukowcy na start” in Sękocin Stary. There were races dedicated to preschoolers (run of 230 m), kids from primary schools (run of 800 m) and – the main race of 5 km - employees of State Forest, scientific institutes, universities and all other lovers of this discipline. The march of 5 km was dedicated to all fans of nordic walking.

Among all participants there was a  strong representation of ForBioSensing project team. The greatest success achieved our colleague Rafał Sadkowski winning the first place in category “Main Race of 5 km – scientific category: Master of Science and PhD student – men” and thereby 12 position in OPEN category. In category “Main Race of 5 km – scientific category Philosophiae Doctor – men” the second and third place were taken by EngD Bartłomiej Kraszewski and ForBioSensing project manager – EngD Krzysztof Stereńczak. Kuba Kraszewski trod his father’s footsteps and won in the category “Preescholers Race – boys”. Congratulations!

For all participants and their families there were educational stands with games, quizzes and contests connected with forest issues. Among the stands there was also our ForBioSensing promotion stand. All the quests could check their knowledge about Białowieża Forest, do some puzzle and watch the forest on anaglyph.

After all the races, awarding ceremony and game time, all participants had a chance to eat sausages freshly fished from the fire.

We would like to invite you to the next year edition of the run – we will be there for sure!

In all races and Nordic walking march took part 107 participants. Taking into account all families, volunteers and organizers the total amount of participants was about 200 people.
